Jim Abbott, AIF®, PPC®, is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor at Claro Advisors, where he partners with individuals, families, and companies to help them plan for their financial futures with clarity and confidence. He advises business owners and plan sponsors on the design and oversight of 401(k) and retirement plans, while also working closely with clients on retirement planning, education savings, and long-term wealth preservation and growth.
Jim’s path to financial services is shaped by his background as a professional athlete. Drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2000 NHL Draft, he graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration and went on to play professional hockey for several years. He later transitioned into the financial services industry, joining Wells Fargo Advisors in Boston before becoming part of Claro Advisors in October 2017.
Deeply committed to giving back, Jim is actively involved in his community. He currently serves as President of Christopher’s Haven in Boston and supports several organizations, including Skate for the 22 Foundation, The Granite State Collective for NIL & UNH Hockey, and Associated Builders and Contractors at both the local and national levels.
